Everybody hears about the wagon-loads of money provided for children’s charities by the Crystal Charity Ball gals. They’ve raised more than $112M for area kids’ nonprofits.
So the question is: “How does a nonprofit get on the beneficiary list?”
The 2014 CCB Chair Robyn Conlon and Charity Selection Chair Susan Farris will have those answers at an orientation at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, at the Communities Foundation of Texas.
Sure, attendance “is not mandatory,” but you’ll learn about the process that’s as thorough as an IRS audit.
Just to give you a little advance info, the applying agency must:
- Serve children in Dallas County.
- Have had a 501 (c) 3 designation for at least three years.
- Had an office in Dallas County for three years.
- Have provided services in Dallas County for at least three years.
The applications will go online Friday, August 30, and must be at CCB headquarters by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30. NOTE: The applications can only be snail-mailed or hand delivered. No email applications will be accepted.
Word to the wise: When delivering the applications, remember that the CCB headquarters have relocated to 3838 Oak Lawn. Don’t want you to show up at 3:59 p.m. at the wrong address!
Don’t be fearful about applying. Keep in mind that a CCB grant not only can infuse your organization with much needed funds, it’s also a stamp of approval from the 61-year-old fundraising group.
